The Decemberists Live in Royal Oak

Over the past hour news has been flooding in from downtown Royal Oak that The Decemberists have been playing a street corner show.  Just as I was about to head down to check them out, apparently the RO Police decided to shut them down.

Royal Oak is known for a few things, Live music being one of them. Occasionally you will be walking downtown, or eating at one of the patio cafes and hear the sounds of an acoustic guitar in the distance and some young out of key guy singing, or you will get lucky and be at the corner with the saxophonist.  Though RO’s live music has its up and downs of musicians, its always entertaining to hear something going on while downtown.

So back to my point, The Decemberist are a larger touring band, and over the past hour has been pushing publicity via twitter to get people down to Royal Oak to come check them out.  Not like they are a loud scream-O band.

Well I score this one Artists 1 RO Police 0
